About This Place

Nestled in the vibrant community of Upper Saint Clair, Scoglio's USC offers a richly authentic Italian and seafood dining experience that truly stands out. This inviting eatery combines the warmth of traditional Italian flavors with the freshest catch from the sea, creating a menu bursting with both comfort and elegance.

From the moment you step inside, you’ll notice the cozy yet energetic atmosphere—perfectly suited for everything from intimate dinners to lively gatherings. The spacious seating ensures comfort, even when the restaurant buzzes with activity on popular weekend nights. As customers have noted, while the ambiance can lean towards lively and a touch noisy during peak hours, it never compromises the genuine hospitality that makes each visit special.

Food lovers will find themselves spoilt for choice. Start your meal with the delightfully crisp Fried Zucchini, boasting a light, thin coating that crackles with every bite. The Fried Calamari and the signature Scoglio Salad—fresh greens tossed in a delicate white balsamic vinaigrette—set a promising tone for what’s to come.

For main courses, the menu is a treasure trove of Italian classics and robust seafood delights. Imagine savoring the tender Chicken Romano or the perfectly breaded and flavorful Chicken Milanese. Seafood aficionados will relish the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake Imperial and the enticing Veal and Seafood Fra-Diavlo, where the spicy blend of flavors awakens the palate. Meat lovers aren’t left behind—dishes like the expertly broiled 14 oz. New York Strip Steak topped with a red wine bordelaise, or the succulent Center Cut Pork Chops served with a veal demi-glaze and roasted vegetables, bring traditional richness to the table.

Soups and salads add heartwarming and refreshing elements. The Chicken Pastina Soup comforts with its tender pasta pearls in savory broth, while the Warm Pear Salad offers an elegant balance of field greens, dark balsamic, sweet pears, creamy Gorgonzola, and grilled salmon—a true symphony of textures and flavors.

One of the crowning delights to round off the meal is the Gluten Free Chocolate Cake, which perfectly combines indulgence and dietary consideration. It’s a luscious finale that leaves diners deeply satisfied.

But beyond the food, what truly elevates Scoglio's USC is its attentive service. Reviewers consistently praise the staff for their warmth and patience, especially when accommodating families and large groups alike. Whether it’s accommodating young children with care or ensuring each dish arrives hot and timely, the team’s dedication shines through.

It’s clear from the glowing experiences shared by patrons—from the raving about the crispy fried zucchini to the hearty portions and fresh ingredients—that Scoglio’s USC is much more than a restaurant; it’s a place where quality, flavor, and sincere hospitality come together to create memorable dining moments. Whether you're craving classic Italian comfort food or exquisite seafood specialties, this gem in Upper Saint Clair delivers a deeply satisfying and heartfelt culinary journey.

We were a party of eight with ages 2 to 75. The food was delicious and served hot in a timely manner. Our server (I think his name was Kevin) was so helpful and patient with the kids, ages 2, 4, and 8. Seating was comfortable but a little noisy. We’ll be back, but not with kids.

We had an enjoyable dinner here. They have a massive seating area which was packed on a Saturday night. Reservations recommended. Service was good even though the place was packed. The fried zuchinni was excellent - thinly sliced, light coating and crispy. I got the chicken parm - which was just as good. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the breading was not overwhelming or soggy. I really enjoyed it. Overall a good experience

This place was so cute and quaint. It's a little spot but everyone is so nice. We decided fo try this place on a whim and was just really craving good Italian..... they usually require a reservation, but they were nice and was able to fit us in. The portion sizes were huge and the food was just as good! The chicken was so flavorful and the ingredients I could tell were fresh. They also provide bread and rolls and my son loved them. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive and I will be back!

An excellent server is what makes a place, and ours was outstanding. I'm ashamed to say I can't remember her name, but she just moved here from CO. She's a gem: was patient as we took our time with the menu, ensured we had everything we needed each time she passed without being intrusive, and was quick witted. Really lovely dinner, food was delicious. Small, but cozy.

So many good things to say about this restaurant. Scoglio's moved from their Greentree location to Pine Bridge Commons, which is all remodeled has a wonderful atmosphere and a great Upper Saint Clair location. Besides the convenient location and renovation, both the food and service is impeccable. A large menu with daily specials is available. We enjoyed a large group Christmas party which went absolutely perfect. The service we received from our server Kevin was top notch, thank you Kevin for making it a memorable event. We visit restaurants for the food first and foremost.......Scogio's has that nailed down. The atmosphere, location and service is icing on the cake. If you have not already, I HIGHLY recommend dining here. 20250227 Another great lunch and thanks to Kevin our server, it was even better............. Thank you Kevin.

Had the veal parmigian which was delicious! Their pasta sauce is little more than crushed tomatoes which I didn't care for. The rolls were hard and cold. My friend had the crab cakes and he said they were just ok. We got there at 4pm, there was only one other table seated and they asked if we had reservations? They said they had a large group coming in at 6pm. We were out by 5pm. Our server was awesome.
